kubota diesel tractor ?'s
my question is on the engine not the tractor. Whats the engine in this tractor? would it make good donor? vertical, i'd guess, or horizontal? any input would be cool. http://southbend.craigslist.org/grd/1678135042.html

Should be a Kubota 2 cyl diesel engine. Kubota uses their own engines. Will be a vertical .

It's a 2 cylinder diesel for sure, but I'm pretty sure that it's a horizontal shaft engine. Judging from the pictures on the web.

She says it's drive shaft driven which would lead me to believe it's horizontal.

It's a horizontal, 13 HP 2 cylinder water cooled Diesel. It's shaft driven direct to a hydraulic transaxle, which is the weak link. I have one and the engine is going to go into my 1987 Power King as soon as I finish my Allis Chalmers 620 repairs. It is a very nice compact unit.
