8.5 or 8 would be fine- I imagine they will be tough to get on- use long tire irons.

Any help is appreciated...

I think the factory SS18, or GT18 rims with 23x10.5 12 are an 8.5" rim. I have two sets of those, but not for sale.

Some were 8.5 but many were 7. I have know idea why the same tractor would come with different size rims but they did.

The super lugs did call for 8.5 rim. Sears sold them mounted on 7 inch rims for years. Just a while back a member bought some their. On sale they were 180 rim and all.

I just mounted some 4 ply HDAP tires this morning, no problem. Soap them up good and take little bites with your bars.

I also just got a set of the "True" Carlisle Super Lugs. Found a discontinued set on ebay. Paid $220 to my door. People have seen them at TSC but when I go there they have just the OffBrand Hi-Run brand that says "Super Lug " on them.

I bought these loose rims off ebay about a year ago and I'm positive the ad said they were for 10.5" wide tires. These tires don't flex like turf savers do, so that's why I'm posting what may be a very dumb question. Thanks!
So what you are asking is how do i mount them on your rims? If that is the case then get yourself a squirt bottle put about a 50-50 mixture of luquid laundry soap and water in it. Spray the bead on the new tires and they should just about slide on the rim with very little effort...Just put them on a severe angle to start on the rim. Once the first bead is on the second one will go on pretty east with just some pushing and perhaps a large screwdriver.
Now for setting the bead for air GOOD LUCK. I had to take mind to a tire store to have them do it for me my ole air compressor didnt have enough guts to get them sealed..........

I know how to mount tires. I put new front tires on just fine. I just couldn't get the last 5 inches of the second bead on with these ag tires. I was also curious if the rims I have are too thin. I usually use straight dish soap.

They are definitely tight tires and as others have recommended take to a tire shop for mounting! Worth the minimal amount to have them done!

Ditto. At first when I called the big auto tire chains they said no to tractor tires, but i still went up to my local NTB and they said ehh we'll try. 2 minutes later they were done andthey said your all set, On the house! Since then I've always taken my tractor tires up there usually Sunday mornings with a dozen doughnuts!! Never been charged lol.

i feel real silly but... how does it, or doesnt it, work when you put a 23/10.50x12 on a 10x12 wheel? i am thinking about it for the pulling applications to get all of the bar of the ags to dig, and less of a ball like affect.

Should work ok. This link says 11 inch rims works well with that size tire.
