Default x540 and suitcase weights

Can an x540 owner confirm for me whether the suitcase weights hang off of the back with no additional weight bracket? The dealer wasn't sure so I wanted to ask before I spent the money.
While were at it, any x540 owners have experience with the JBjr and how much weight is needed? Can't wait to start some digging with my newly installed JB!

no additional bracket is required, the rear plate is the hanger for them. i can't speak to teh JBJr, but you want enough weight to offset the load/bucket. the bucket when loaded will tend to lighten the rear since the front axle will act as a pivot. in order to keep traction you have to add the rear weight. my advice would be add a little at a time until it feels good. no sense in putting too much weight on, but then again it really ain't gonna hurt either.

AZJPilot I have the 2009 X540 with the JBR jr bucket on the front. No need to add weight bracket on it. I only have the 48" on mine I use 4 42" JD weights and have no problem with mine. I also have a Craftsman Sleeve hitch with a craftsman box blade when I dont have the weights on it. So I dont have a weight factor. I made the craftsman fit the JD with very little problem. Does anybody know about the JD sleeve hitch that I heard Brinly was making for JD either Hydraulic or electric. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I've got 4 suitcases on order at $45 each. I had to order for that price or pay $65 from the parts department. I thought about making my own weight rack and using my unused exercise cast iron. I may use those....someday!

The real trick to buying suitcase weights is to NOT have to pay for shipping.

I puschased suitcase weights also , I did make my own bracket, so simple compared to $120.00 from dealer. I can hang 10 weights on them...so far this winter only needed 5 on the rear
