Does anyone know if JD still stocks the plastic, filled wheel weights for the 318?
I'm assuming they do since they still use the same tire size. Any idea what a set might run me?

You can still get either plastic covered concrete or cast-iron rear weights for the 318.
JD also offers front weights, but I am not sure if they are plastic covered concrete or cast-iron |

The ones they sell for current X500 tractors will fit the 318. I bought a pair a little over a year ago for my X540 and they cost me $110.

Picked up a cement pair, $110 isn't bad.
Now the tractor isn't charging, so the implement is picking up this afternoon to look at it. IN the middle of a snow storm, just my luck.

I'm happy with my plastic weights, especially considering the price (the gas to go pick them up). |

they just picked it up, hopefully i can get it back within the next couple days. I'll get the wheel weights on it and a 3 pt from Ruegg (if the repair bill isn't too high). My FIL is a good welder, I'll have him make me a ballast box and start lookin at the or-bilt a little harder.

Now that I have some down time until my machine comes home, can someone show a diagram of installing the plastic weights? There is some threaded rods, lock nuts, and flange nuts included as mounting hardware.

Threaded rod through 2 of the holes on your wheel, slide the weights over the rods, and bolt on. I prefer using 8" carriage bolts, as the square heads fit rit into the square openings in the wheels. Simple, but can be a pain. The 8" bolts are nice for the plastic 70lb weights.

Glockem used a long piece of all-thread supported by a jack stand on the outside to slide the weights into place and hold them there while he fastened his carriage bolts.

The plastic ones weren't hard to put on had my BIL help and only took a few minutes! Hardest thing was getting the rod in and sized right to leave just enough space to thread the outside nut and bolt!

I got them on last night. They weren't all that bad to put on. I noticed they help dramatically on slippage when backing up a hill or pushing a big snow pile with the blade. Next, is the 3 pt.
