Default X-series Mid Mount grader blade

I will purchase a new X748se, 60 inch 7-iron, with a 3pt. I am making my last few final decisions on options and implements. I will use a grading land plane, Frontier LP1160 or equilivant, to maintain a limestone driveway. Has anyone used the 60 inch mid-mount grader blade? It would not use it in place of the LP1160, but compliment it when needed (Filling in pot holes etc.). I was wondering how well they work? Seems light?

and the mid mount grader blades work great for dirt/rock. Much better than a front mounted blade IMO. slkpk

Greenbayouboy! I, too, would love to see a Mid-mount blade. The county's grader trucks use them, why not us?!

Another option for grading your driveway is a 3pt box-blade. It would probably do better at filling in the ruts than any back, front, or mid-mount blade.

Guys. Thanks for the feedback. My dad lives close by and has a 4115 with a FEL, so I have no interest or need for a FEL on the X748. My primary use for the X748 is cutting my 3.5 acre lawn, maintaining my driveway, and entertaining my two young boys. I currently have a 425 and a 318. Both are in great condition, but I am ready for an upgrade. My 318 has been rock solid and still runs like a top. My 425 is in immaculate condition. The 425's ride and comfort is a big improvement of my 318. I am expecting the same from this upgrade. I love the 4115 because of its versatility. The trade off is comfort compared to the 425/445/455 or X7xx series. All depends on what your primary use is going to be. I will post pictures once I seal the deal.

You won't believe the difference in comfort moving into the SE model. I went from a 425 to the X585SE in 2004 and it was like a night and day difference. You won't be disappointed. slkpk

Sounds like you've made the right decision. Post some pics when she arrives, and especially of the mid mount grader blade.

I got a brand new one as part of a package deal on a previous X700 I owned that never touched the dirt. I had a heck of a time trying to sell it,trade it, or even give it away. This was another item my local dealer said they had only sold 1-2 of in the last 2-3 years and wouldn't give me a dime for it FYI. I fnailly craigslisted it to a local guy for 250.00 and was glad to get it out of my way. Never could really say how it worked......
