I would but I am no longer using the factory setup as I am no utilizing a actuator as the means of lift.

thanks for the response it seems the blower just hangs by the 2 j shaped bolts at the front ( along with the sway bar)
then at the back it hooks to the pins .(ordered those) does that sound right? |

One other question, my JD dealer has been very helpful but has not been able to identify the bracket that the sway bar hooks into
does anyone know the part # , description or something that would help me figure that one out thanks again Kevin |

Yeah what you said sounds perfect. My j bars thingies actually went into the square holes....made them perfectly straight vertically, but they are adjustable so should work in a variety of places. The part you need is 29 (M96016) on this diagram.
![]() 2 of each of 30 and 31 will make install a breeze or you can come up with two of your own nuts and bolts. Adam

Ok its nearly ready, picked up and installed the pins for the rear mount.
got the blower installed and the belt properly. still need the sway bar bracket (jd dealer said monday) ran it up , still need to adjust the spot on the lift arm that the rod that lifts the blower connects. wondering if anyone has an opinion if the chute angle control cable is necessary, the whole blower only cost about $150 so far, and the dealer says the chute control cable is $100 |

Should be able to get by without it. For the most part you will find that full up is where it will like to be. I guess it depends on the areas you have to throw the snow to. I would at least give it a few storms to see if you even need to move the chute height at all from on initial setting.

IMO, the chute adjustment is necessary if you don't want snow blowing back in your face. My current set-up, a 42" blower has the cable already, but my previous 38" blower did not. I bought the cable for $80 from the dealer for that one. You can also get an electric linear actuator to adjust the chute height. There are a few threads on that if you do a search you will find some info. I may end up doing that someday down the road.
BTW, looking at your picture, you need to raise the attachment point of the lift rod on the lever. It's about 4-6 inches too low from what I can tell.

I will adjust it when I get my say bar bracket installed
maybe wait til the first snow before i decide on the cable will also have to see how much the chute blocks the headlighs and if aux headlight is necessary ( seems like i am always out at night) also this summer I will sand and paint the worn areas inside of the blower so its nice and slick Kevin |

Where is your mower deck height knob set? Try it all the way up (4") and see if that makes a difference.

The mower deck height knob has nothing to do with the snow blower height. There is nothing to adjust to get the blower to stay in the up position. The handle should lock in the up position when it is pulled all the way back. The same way when you lift the deck and it locks into position. The rod that is connected to the blower should be attached high enough on the handle to lift the blower and keep the blower in the up position. I've had the same 38" blower as you have for over 13 years and that is how it works.
