Stocking in wood so I can have heat in the garage this winter.
This old truck is sure handy to have around. ![]()

Is it lowered or just bottomed out?

Yes .. and No ...
The chassis is a 1985 Chevy 1-ton dually. I didn't make any modifications to the stock suspension. With this much load on the truck, the back is sitting on the overload springs but it is not bottomed out yet. There is still about 2-1/2 inches of clearance above the tires. Here is a photo of the truck with out a load that was taken just after I built it. When I put the cab and bed on, I did lower them both on the frame. If you look at the front wheel you will see that the top of the tire is just inside the upper fender lip. Normally there is 6 to 8 inches from the tire to the fender lip on a 1-ton truck. Same way with the bed. I did however, end up cutting a radius ark in the side of the bed for extra clearance over the tires. ![]()

Nice truck!
My dad had '59 Apache 8' stepside, 3/4 ton I think. I learned to drive with that truck.
