Default Frontier SP10 Soil Pulverizer

I have been looking at a soil pulverizer and the Deere dealer dropped one off abt 3 weeks ago for us to test.. Finally got decent weather on Friday and gave it a go. We have been living here for almost 6 years now and bear in mind there was no gravel added to this yard at all for at least 10 years from what I have been able to find out from th PO. We did the whole yard in abt 2 hrs. The only thing that didn't impress me with this unit is it is not all they are cracked up to be for tearing up old lawns, of course our ground wasn't real dry so that may have affected the performance. It is going to be a permanent addition as of this week as I like it much better than a our Box Blade for driveway work due to the rippers being closer together and leaving less in the way of ruts. There are time when the BB will be the tool of choice but I think this pulverizer speaks for itself. BTW that before pic is abt a year old and the yard wasn't quite that bad when we started but it had alot of work to be done as there were quite alot of hard high spots that it ripped and filled in very nicely. Oh and Andy if you see this the pulverizer dosen't throw rocks that we found.

Nice work. Are you going to bring in rock for the top layer? slkpk

Hi Saskman

Looks like the 2320 is earning it's keep. That did a great job on the yard. I have never seen or heard of a pulverizer being used around here. Man, it sure is flat out there! You must get serious snow drifting around the house and buildings.
Hope the weather is holding out west. We have had below average temps all month and lots of wind/rain storms. We had one last night that came up the coast and dumped about 40mm of rain and 60-70km winds on us. Late this morning the sun came out and we hit 20c. It was beautiful all afternoon. Yesterday it was 2C in the garage when I was trying to work on something.

Cheers
Brian

Thanks,

I may bring some in in the spring, most people out here kinda just regrade their yards in the spring and fall and they mostly look like ours does. But I may live on the wild side in the spring who knows..

Yep the 2320 is doing a fine job, haven't found an attachment yet it can't handle. You think it's flat... like Team_Green said awhile back you can probably see North Dakota if look carefully off the end of our driveway.. We do get some drifting in on the driveway side of the house as the prevailing winds are out of the northwest and so I am glad to have a blower again this winter as I really didn't like plowing all that much. I actually found blowing is faster than plowing here because I have to move too much stuff around the east side of the yard, I blow it out into the front yard and it stays away from the house then. Man I know what you are going through with the weather as we went through that 3 weeks ago, that was when I got the pulverizer and just got to use it. Some of the farmers still have crop on the fields that they swathed abt a month ago and it hasn't dried out yet, I am waiting for one guy to get my straw bales to me but same story the crop hasn't been combined yet.. But on the plus side it is supposed to be around +10 to 12 for the next week so I can still get some more stuff done and maybe even get the engine together and back in my Polaris sled..

Hope you guys get some more nice weather out there before it gets to the W word..
