Any ideas for easily mounting the mower deck?

Anyone have ideas for installing and removing the mower deck? Ramps or something? A dolly to slide it into place?

I have an H14 tube frame. I find it very bothersome to drag the heavy mower deck sideways under the tractor. The lift link also sticks up, so I must disconnect and re connect it. I have tried jacking the front end, but the floor jack just barely fits between the PTO and cast axle - it has occasionally slipped off. And I still gott drag the deck sideways.

This don't help with the dragging, but you could drive onto wooden blocks to help with the clearance issues and it can't fall. I have seen vids of folks driving right over decks to install, I have not tried this myself though.

Find a place for an overhead lifting point and lift the front by means of a strap or rope then nothing will be in your way.

I drive the fronts on 2 4x4's so the wheels are just at the edge then turn the front wheels all the way to the right and slide deck under from the right so the lift arm doesn't have to go under the tractor and get hooked,I do it on the asphalt so I don't tear up the grass "dragging" the wheels. Steve!!

I have at least 6 year of college (SQL Programmer) and every spring I used to drag the 54" deck under the HT. One spring I just got smart and I found out lifting the front of the HT from a overhead beam.. Right in and right out.

I have a 48" on my 1050 and I have my 16 year old son remove the mower deck....lol

ive prob been taking off the deck and putting it back on my dads 1050 since i was 10
its pretty easy
we have some 6x6s on the edge of the stone walk holding the stone in
i just drive up onto one of them with the front wheels
and slide the deck in from the side
and hook it up one corner at a time
simple
easy

get a slip sheet a carpet man uses its plastic and a piece of cardboard two times as long as the deck they slide easy that way

Get another tractor. Install the deck once. One tractor with a snowblade, too. One for the snowcaster. One for the tiller....well, that's my dream, anyhow....

Don't laugh and don't make it a dream because that is what has happened to me. 6 Bolens tractors all ready for work. I got to be nuts at least the wife thinks so.

BEST DEAL i have found- is getting one of those game hiosts from cabelas- they can be had for a couple hundred with free shipping find a likely spot to mount it- get your self a 4 x 4 or chunk or channel iron or square tubing to run across your ceiling joists- these are a great value for the money- work dandy for hanging your deer too!

When it comes right down to it the best way is to have someone else do it.

I use floor jack on the front axle. I have also used the 2x4 trick too but find the floor jack easier.
