My brother as a 1959 chrysler imperial with 413 and 4 barrel carburetor.
We are looking for a complete carburetor rebuilt kit. He let the car sit for over 2 yrs and the complete carb is vanish from the fuel. You cann't move a single thing on carb. Before he let car sit it did need a accertor pump which he could never find,so he just let car sit in garage. The car did run good and he and i would drive it around till the accertor pump starter going bad. any ideas where we could pick up a carb kit complete. |

Looks like you may want to purchase a new carburator. Have you tried an Auto parts store? There are a lot of aftermarket carbs for the big block Chryslers.

What kind of carb does it have? Seems most of the old Mopars have one form or another of the Carter AFB on it. Frankly if its a driver, and not a restored piece, I would pop on a new Edlebrock carb, what is a updated copy of the AFB on it, and be done with it. Those old alloy Carters got a lot of corrosion in them, and were a pain to clean it out, and run well.
Be carfull becouse there was some Hollys made back then that you DONT want to run!! Not sure if Mopar used them, but ford did for a few years, and they caused a LOT if fires! |

I think only ford used the Teapot "Towering inferno carb"
It probably is a Carter, possibly not an AFB, but parts are available. if you go to a real auto parts store, you'll find what your looking for |

You might try an industrial parts house- there is a fair bit of crossover between Mopar cars and the products that Mopar made for industrial or agricultural use.
You can typically get these parts at any good parts house, but only if you find a counter person who is willing to reach under the counter and get the book out instead of just looking in the computer. I've had people tell me that a part could not be found, only to have another person in the same shop get out the old parts book and find it 10 minutes later. |

I had a 65 New Yorker with the 413 a few years ago. I had the same problem as the car had been sitting for 20 years. Found the Carb kit at NAPA along with everything else to freshen up the top half. Cool cars those old land yachts.
