about 6 months ago the vintage saw bug bit me. overnight my collection went from 1 saw to 13! here's some of mine:
my first saw, an early 60's Homelite Zip-B ![]() then i found a monster 125cc German-made Solo Rex: ![]() i impulsively bought a late-40's Reed-Prentice Craftsman 1200B in REALLY rough shape. i have it completely apart and i will restore it. my first saw, a MS180C, is next to it. ![]() after months of searching i finally found a Homelite 26LCS. this is the second model of gas chainsaw that Homelite ever made. This saw is what got me interested in old saws because i love the style. ![]() then i found a 1945-ish Lombard GS two-man. ![]() my most recent find, a Mac 1-42, 80CC, original "Mc Welded Tip" bar. ![]() I have videos of my saws and other machines on my Youtube! http://www.youtube.com/user/themadmailler?feature=mhee anyone else into old saws? be careful with them, you can't have just one! tmm |

Very cool. Nice pics.
I was at a chainsaw GTG yesterday and they were racing zip saws.

I suppose I have become an accidental collector- I have a handful of saws but the ones I like best are the pair of orange Homelite Super XL's (one late '70's, one early '80's) and the old McC in the picture below.
Some of those old saws are awfully impressive- I'm not sure I could carry, let alone operate, most of the larger ones!!

small world! you started houseofhomelite... i guess that's where "RBW" comes from! i'm a member on there too but i don't post too much. honestly all those ads drive me nuts but i still go on there every other day or so.
i go on chainsawcollectors.se a lot, that's a really good place with tons of good info and plenty of helpful people. Just got saw #14 today, a McCulloch Super 44A... tmm |
