I have run across a 48" PTO driven tiller for a JD 400 that has the PTO included. Also available is a 54" hydraulic blade for the same 400. If they are in DECENT shape...have been sitting out in the weather so they arent the best looking in the world, are they worth 1800.00?
He also has a 42" Hydraulic tiller that he might consider selling......what would be a good price on it. It is currently on a 318 but he is going to keep the tractor. And before everyone says it........."depends on location, condition. etc......." it is in Alabama and from what I understand, they are in "working order but have been sitting outside because I dont have room in the shed". The gentleman is a friend of mine and I am considering driving the 150 miles down to his house to look at all of the stuff that he has for sale. Just want ya'lls opinions on ball park values.

Well, in the 318 world, a 48" tiller is worth $800-$1200, the PTO around $750, and the blade $450 if it's power angle. For a 400, they may be worth more or less just due to the rarity (more), or lower popularity (less).
The hydraulic tiller, complete with all bracketry, is $800-$1,200 depending on condition. .

Just saw this one on CL for $1500, so I'd say $1800 for tiller and blade is not to bad of a price. Not sure about your area but tillers for garden tractors are a rare commodity in my neck of the woods.
