Is this something that can be added? Do I have to replace the whole rear? I am lucky I have a tractor salvage yard about 1 MI away from me. with 3 M-602's in it. |

I have been doing some research I have a 1962 M-602 SER# 26700076 So that would be #76 kinda of a early number. Just thought I would add that.

Does anyone know the real stock location for the 2 batteries? The diesels came with two but as I am restoring this tractor where do they go? And what's with my front axle? I have not seen another like mine in the M-602 line up.
for the newb questions

I'm not 100% sure because I don't have a M602, but I believe the batteries go one on each side against the rear fenders. They're a long, tall skinny battery, Fleet-Farm carries them. Adding the 3-point shouldn't be too bad, replace the entire system under the seat with one from the salvage yard. You also should compare pumps and make sure everything lines up OK. The front axle is the stock front axle for the M602 Standard. Looks like you have got a pretty nice straight tractor to do a restoration.

Hey, that looks nice with some paint on it! I like the silver wheels. What yellow is that? I used IH federal yellow on mine and looks about same. Little brighter than the old MM's but real close on the later ones. On the 3pt, you will need all the tele-flo parts under the seat, probly the pump and lines for on back of tractor and any mounts for pivots of lower hardware and arms. I'm thinking you may need a drive shaft internal to go from clutch back to the pump. I see you already have the "type E" hydraulics, so maybe you won't need another pump and is same one??? Controls will be in tele-flo unit and the lift arms are mounted to that too and you won't use same controls as you have now then. You might need a filter that is under floor board on some and on front of unit on others, not sure what 602 uses for sure. Get a shop manual or at least the IT manual and read up on systems. Not sure tele-flo is in reg manuals, might need the seperate one for that option. I think the Type E is in the IT manuals at least.

I love the deere on your hood !!! The paint was Safety yellow AKA school bus yellow. I think it will tone down with some time. But yes I am getting a full rock assy from a M-670 draw bars, controls and links and all from a local yard but have to wait till next month for funds. Right now I am mounting the 4point for the Bradco 609 backhoe to dig my pond with it. Just like this but hooking it to my MM I think the added weight of the MM will help and I have a 24" bucket Mine came off a mid size Kubota and had a four pin/point mount set up.
