Default kohler help please

My moms 216 with a kohler 341 16hp has a oil problem. I rebuilt it last year when the governor gear went out with a rebuild kit. She only uses it to till the garden. Last week I got it ready and started to till. Noticed the tines were spinning the wrong way so I drove it to the barn and after I got that solved I noticed a puddle of oil between the tires. It was dripping pretty good so I degreased it and power washed it to start searching for the culprit.Took off the air filter cover figuring it was a breather issue .

When I fired it up I didn't notice any leaks and when I checked the breather tube it has air coming out of it. noticed I was still getting oil puddles so got a good flashlight and found the problem ( I think). The fuel pump had spray coming out of a hole on the left side between the mounting bolts. Further inspection I noticed a silver pin sticking out of the right directly across from the other hole. Using a screwdriver I slid the pin to the left and the spray stopped. Question is what is this pin and what will keep it in place? with the pin centered the leak stopped.

Then I pulled the dipstick to check the oil with the engine running and was greeted to a oil shower Since it was rebuilt last summer and has great compression and runs great what would cause that? Could the breather be partially plugged? How much air is supposed to come out of the breather tube?

Thanks for reading my novel

All these engines will blow oil out the filler tube.Lots of crank case pressure.the pin I probable the pin that holds the pump lever.

Just to reinforce what biker said: Remember from the rebuild that long dipper on the rod cap? It hits the oil everytime the engine turns. LOTS of oil spray as a result, that's what it's for after all. Also each time the piston comes down in the cylinder air gets displaced. Normally the reed valve in the breather will let that pressure out. But with the dipstick out, guess where it goes? So that rush of air isn't necessarily blowby, but a normal thing.
