I'm just glad that my wife is not on MTF. The cobbler's kids would have callouses to their knees by now. This summer I'll redo the bathroom before starting on the kitchen, but the bottom line is I just don't want to build cabinets anymore. I didn't mean to be a cabinetmaker to begin with, I just happened into it and it turned out I was pretty good. Time now for something else. Anyone interested in a large line/construction borer cheap?
Back to the thread, those cabs look good. Your wife's opinion is important because she needs to be happy with it too. Also, her idea of following the current trend is why we get new business a few years down the road when a new trend makes the old kitchen look dated.

That is a nice color on the top- blends in with the cabinet hue very nicely. How you gonna eventually deal with that door casing on the right of the countertop? Scribe around the profile of the counter?

Not quite sure what will go on at the doorway. I may close it up a little, but I'm not sure yet. I got the upper figured out and in place, and the doors are in glue up now.

Thank you very much. Woodworking is one of the things that brings me a great deal of happiness in life, and I'm forever grateful that I was able to inherit even a little of my fathers amazing skills as a carpenter.

Beautiful work. How long did it take to do all of that work? And what wood is that that you used? Bet your wife is thrilled with the finished product.

Thank you. It actually goes pretty quickly, if I can dedicate 100% of my time to it and have the stock on hand, I can usually complete a smaller job like this one in a week from rough stock to finish work. Quicker if I don't have to apply the finish. Cabinets are actually pretty easy to build unless you have real custom pieces, like curved fronts with curved doors and drawer fronts. Their a bit of a challenge. The wood is all hard maple.
