My boss is a really cool guy, and gave me yesterday off. So I got to hit 2 local ponds the last two mornings. The fishing was very lively. We knocked down over 50 largemouths and chain pickerel. The bass were stacked up about 25 feet from shore in 3 to 4 feet of water, while the pickerel were ambushing from shore cover. The object of their pursuit was a gold bladed, #5, Mepps in-line spinner. A few bass broke 2 lbs. This 23" pickerel took several spirited runs, and was none too happy to join us in the boat. Took a small chunk of my thumb as a parting gift! Gonna try and catch him again tomorrow morning

Sounds like a perfect way to spend the morning to me.
I'm going to have to have a talk with your supervisor though. Production is really slipping back at the salt mine.

Sounds like a fun time, glad ya got the opportunity to relax a bit.
Do you grab a fresh one of those when its empty, or just refill it from the pond? Probably would taste the same............. |

Well, Scott, that's what my buddy brought along. Had two, to be sociable. Besides, wouldn't want them laying around for the kids to get into, would I?

That's the beauty of being an owner Ellis. Glad you could get away. A good day of fishing indeed. I haven't even hit the water yet up here. Maybe next week.

Seems like the warm winter moved the bite a couple weeks forward, Al. Around here, this is pretty early for the male bass to be staging up.

No doubt, a couple hours on the water is great for recharging the batteries. Probably hitting the ponds again in the am. Forecast calls for light rain.........perfect for fishing.
