Hydraulic Valve

Is there a modification on my 455 that will allow me to use one hydraulic lever then the other without opening and closing the hydraulic valve in this picture? Want to build a lift for my dethatcher and also my tow type aerator and still use the hydraulics to operate mower deck at the same time.

Are you wanting to use all three at the same time or just the deck plus one or the other?

You should need no modification,if you have the valve in the open position the upper hyd handle will raise and lower the mower the lower handle will run the attachment you plan to use off the two hyd. ports that would normally be used to raise and lower a blade,snowblower,etc. I just cant remember which two ports. I can run down to the shop if need be my blade is still on the 425.

You don't have to make a special trip. Just let me know when you go.

In that case, just leave the valve open. Plug your accessory in the bottom two ports, then use the bottom lever to control it.

The lower two ports are controlled by the lower hyd. lever.

I know there is an electric splitter that you can buy to control two functions off one valve..

Cant say for sure ,mine has no rear outlets but I believe they are the same.

he may be refering to rear left on a 3pt hitch...?
in that case its the rockshaft cylinder, top lever, the same cylinder controls your deck

What I have is 4 ports in front and 4 in rear, I'm wanting to set it up where the top lever will control my deck and the bottom lever control either a cylinder in front OR behind, which ever one I have it connected to.

It sounds like what you have right now, is a choice between using the four front, or the four rear. You choose which set by opening or closing that diverted valve. Is this correct?

If this is correct, you might need to re-plumb the diverter valve, so that it only closes off flow to two of the ports in front. But you might lose some other functionality by doing this.

The only function the diverter-lockout has is to isolate the rockshaft cylinder.In other words when you shut the valve off there is no hyd. flow going to the lift cyl.The rear outlets on yours are just plumbed in to the same ones on the front and should function the same.Best bet would be to hook up a cylinder to them and see whats what if you have a cyl on a snowblower or blade you can steal to experement.

Here in Alabama we don't have a lot of snowblowers or blades. I want to build a hydraulic lift, like on another thread, for my dethatcher. I can dethatch and mow at the same time if the top lever will control the deck and the bottom lever will control the dethatcher connected to front port.
