hi all. awhile back a friend gave me an old tiller. its a rotoette by rototiller. made in troy ny. great shape. i had to repower it but now it works great. it has a fitting on the front i think is called a quick attach. i seen a pic of one with a sickle mower on it. now. i just picked up an older horse model troybilt from a friend. it has the same quick attach on the front of it. how does it work and what attachments go on it??

Before my time. maybe czuck or one of the other real pros will be along to help ya out. I'm just a hack more or less compared to some of these guys.![]() Joe |

Here is a web page with the full history of the company and a list of the attachments that would fit your machine.
http://www.donaldantiquerototillers.com/USA.html That is a great machine and looks to be in great shape too. ![]() That model machine was first built in 1952 until 1961 when the company disappeared. Another neat tidbit is that the factory where the Rototiller machines were built later housed the Troy Bilt factory. Different companies with very similar looking machines that used the same factory.

I have one very similar from the late '40's. The Clinton 3.5 on it was dead from years of sitting, so I swapped it out with a 5hp Briggs that had been run over by a truck. Was a Clinton the original on yours? Do you have a problem with yours wanting to walk when it hits hard ground?

Here is a link to my photo album on these tillers.
http://www.zucksrototillers.com/ROTO...203/index.html Also, the March issue of LAGT should have my article on these little tillers with even more photos. |

Model 2 had a 2hp B&S or Clinton while the Model 3 had the 3hp Model 9. It is a rather large looking engine for only 3hp.

I have a model 2 which I'd like to restore. Is there any chance to still get the decals?

I have one I redone last year and it works great. The tires were shot and I believe the cast iron wheels are 7" and could not find any tires for it so I had to replace wheels and tires. Anyone have a clue where to get 7" tires in a bar tread for these?

Miller tire is the only one who I know who offers a 7" tire and it is not bar tread. It is similar to the tire that came on the Model 2.

I made my own water-slide decals for my Model 2 and 3. You can see them in my website photo album and in the next issue of LAGT magazine.
