Favorite attachments & why?
Hello everyone,
I was wondering what some of your favorite attachments are & why? |
Re: Favorite attachments & why?
I like the rear mount tiller
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...7Tilling1A.jpg because it does a better job in the garden than the walk behind i have, plus it don't beat the heck out me, even when it's tilling 7" deep :bannana: The 12" Brinly plow http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...nhavingfun.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...lowingdeep.jpg because I can plow my own garden...and I go to my Mom and Dads place and plow their garden too. In the above pics my son is plowing our garden for the first time. also the 42" snowthrower http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...eralongday.jpg because it gets the snow out of the way, even the drifts :trink40: In the pic above it was used to help dig out of a 27" deep snowstorm we had a couple of years back. I also have a tractor with a 54" power angle blade, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...1712athome.jpg I haven't got to use it yet, but I'm thinking I'm gonna' like it quite a bit. |

Re: Favorite attachments & why?
I know.... I know... This is the Cub Cadet forum and I’m a Simplicity owner. But most of the Simplicity attachments were also available for the older Cubs.
Anyway, I curse every one of my attachments when they’re in my way, which is quite often. But when I need one.... that’s a different story. I guess the mowing decks are my favorites because the grass has to be mowed and I'd hate to do that with a push behind reel mower. After that, I guess my Sweepster Broom is another favorite because it will sweep dirt and snow off the driveway, and will even thatch if I didn’t have a dethatcher, and clean up leaves if I didn't have a vacuum. I'd hate to do those jobs with a hand broom, shovel, and rake. Here’s a list of what (as my wife claims) “owns me.” Buzz Saw #990032 can be used horizontally for cutting heavy brush and saplings. With the #990034 cradle, it can also be used vertically for cutting fire (cord) wood. Weed Cutter #990370 front mounted 40" 4 blade. Sickle Mower #990785 planetary drive 46". Power Rake / Dethatcher EZ-Rake Model 111 front mounted. Rake York-Modern Landscape #RM 48" with optional grader blade. Power Rotary Broom Jenkins 48" Sweepster front mounted. Tiller #1690039 36" garden. Tiller #1690287 38" heavy duty garden. Tiller #990503 36" with special tines for removing roots. Tiller #990694 36" with chain flails. Lawn Revitalizer #990688 38" with solid knives. Lawn Revitalizer #990688 38" with hammer knives. Cultivator #990209 wheel type Cultivator #990398 lift type Cultivator #990699 bar type Cultivator Brinly Hardy CC-55 BH curved shank Plow 10" moldboard #1690098 Harrow #990408 spring tooth Harrow Brinly Hardy SS-550 Spike Aerator / Drop Spreader Brinly Hardy AS-40 BH 40" Cart #990085 full dump 10 cu. ft. Cart #990085 full dump 10 cu. ft. Cart #990085 full dump with #1600395 low profile vacuum cover. Cart #990085 full dump with #990328 high profile vacuum cover. Cart Simplicity wheel barrow shaped type 4 cu.ft. Trailer Simplicity / Snow Tow-Bee 10' tilt bed trailer w/tongue jack, electric winch and upgraded highway tires. Blade #1690085 manual angling 42" 3 position. Blade #1691520 manual angling 42" 3 position heavy duty spring trip. Blade #1690088 remote angling 46" 5 position heavy duty spring trip. Grader blade #1690038 mid belly mount 42" w/ stirrups. Vee Snow Blade 48" Lantz Industries. Earthcavator Gannon Model FD-36. Mower deck #1690501 42" with straight blades. Mower deck #1691218 42" with Gull Wing blades. Mower deck #1690502 48" with straight blades. Mower deck #1691219 48" with Gull Wing blades. Mower deck #1691218 42" with Gator blades. Mower deck #1691219 48" with Gator blades. Vacuum #990909 PTO blower. Vacuum #1690402 frame mounted blower. Vacuum #1690503 PTO blower Adapter #1690026 vacuum hose - 48" deck. Adapter #1690027 vacuum hose - 42" deck. Roving nozzle #1690031. Snowthrower #1690032 front PTO drive 42". Snowthrower #1691522 center PTO drive 42". Cab #1693269 hard top winter. Adapter #990213 dual wheels. Hitch #1600050 rear one point (sleeve). PTO #1690159 rear 540 rpm. Roller VIKING #33 with #60L17 slicer attachment. Plus a bunch of other stuff (pumps, compressors, mixers, etc.) that I’ve made or adapted to be powered by a tractor. |
Re: Favorite attachments & why?
Dutch, you got so much iron there you better register with the FAA, that's gotta deflect an airplane compass! No way you can adapt a Simplicity to power that Cat grader with the bad manifolds? :D

Re: Favorite attachments & why?
This is a attachment that looks very interesting to me. This is not mine, but I am looking into fabricating something similar to this:

Re: Favorite attachments & why?
I agree with Dutch, my favorite is the mowing deck. Used to take me 3 hours to push mow my yard. Now with the 48" deck it takes me about an hour :)
Next would be my tow behind tiller... MaineDad |
Re: Favorite attachments & why?
I think Dutch wins! I only have a dump cart. I am soon to het a 3 point hitch and accessories though. Dutch do you have anything you want to sell? ;-)

Re: Favorite attachments & why?
Cup holder....holds my beer. Sorry not a cub owner either.
|
Re: Favorite attachments & why?
My favorite "attachment" is the cup holder.... properly referred to as the Beer Distribution Center.

I like my lawn sweeper and cart. :fing32:

Re: Favorite attachments & why?
All I have is a 10 cu.ft. Cub cart. But my favorite is my neighbors Brinley core aerator. Its a pleasure to pull around making holes. I also rent a roller too that I like.

Re: Favorite attachments & why?
This seems to work pretty well for fence fixing.
Other wise, I like the box blades a lot for use in cleaning up after Ellie May's critters. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...k/DSCF0015.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...cupholder4.jpg |

Works a lot better than the cup holder that has become obsolete!! :trink39: |
Re: Favorite attachments & why?
I just drink the beer fast enough so as not to need a cup holder..
one would be nice in the JD 4 wheel drive though, I run out of hands at the end of the field between steering, shifting down, running a hydraulic lever or two and then up shifting after having completed the turn....in a time period of about 5-10 seconds. |
Re: Favorite attachments & why?
The favored attachment around here seems to be "The Pulling Sled" it weighs in right at 7000 pounds, with 3 transmissions a wide selection of gears is available for stopping various sizes and power ranges.
