Howdy, I hope someone here can lend a hand....
Here is what happened. My little diesel cranked wonderfully a week ago. Then my dad and I replaced the tranny fluid and engine oil. He connected a pair of wires that i believe was disconnected before that were coming off of the transmission housing near the shifter. Anyway, I went to start it, and the buzz sound buzzed, the glow plugs glowed, i attempted to crank it, and it made a split second attempt at cranking, and then nothing!
Now, the ignition switch does not make a buzz sound when turned counter clockwise, nor attempt to crank when turned clockwise. I put a simple volt tester on the ignition switch and it appears to be working. (The center lug on the bottom is hot until the switch it turned either way).
There is a single fuse i saw below the instrument panel that i replaced, but still nothing. I have tried disconnecting the two wires my old man hooked back...I put a ohm meter on the wires coming from the clutch safety plunger, and it changed from 0 to infinte when the plunger was depressed, so that appears to be working...any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

First thing I would try is to unhook these wires your dad hooked up.

Welcome to MTF Chuck!

It sounds as though your clutch neutral safety switch is "INOP" or out of adjustment. You can temporarily bypass this switch to check your starter circuit. Just remember when you bump the starter switch your tractor CAN/WILL try to start if it's left in gear.
