My father in-law just bought a Yanmar 1820D. I think it is an '82 model. Nice little tractor in pretty good shape. It came with a new rear blade, new Koyker FEL, and a used Woods finishing mower.

Is there anyway to find any history about this machine? The only stamped number (on a plate) I could find was 211XX. Also does anybody know where to find oil filters or a cross reference? He would also like to find a manual. Is Hoye Tractor Parts reputable? Thanks.

Hoye is very reputable. Aaron or Stan at Hoye stock all regualr maintenance items, major mechanicals, manuals and freely give advice about models and their history.

Mark just about said it all. Murray Publishing has English translations of Japanese manuals. I have one for my Yanmar and it leaves a lot to be desired. Got a feeling the translations was done overseas and possibly limited knowledge of tractors and things mechanical. It is better than nothing.

For my model all filters have common part #'s that can be had in many locations including NAPA. For me the lest common part is the air filter but not all that hard to find.

Ernies,

Thanks for the useful information. :fing32: I'll pass along the information to my father in-law--I'm sure he will appreciate it to.
