While waiting for the Gasket set to come in, I decided to rebuild the oil pump, since it did not require gaskets.

This style of oil is pertnear indestructible, but a BROKEN PIN SPRING made of harden steel was destroyed somehow.

The drive shaft in the oil pump was spinning with no pump gear attached to it!

A break of a 48 cent pin spring distroyed this engine

Lack of oil pressure is a sure ticket to engine failure. Aren't you glad you decided to look at the pump now instead of later? You'll have time to get it right too. :trink40:

No oil pressure and scaled bearings tells you something is going on with the lubrication system that just ain't right!

A 48 cent part seems to always be the culprit and who would think something so basic could rwreak such havoc??? Wingnut, glad you found your problem now instead of finding nothing to cause this problem. As CD sia no oil pressure = problem. Good heads up on that winger.
