I have located a Leyland Tractor for a good price, but I have no clue what model number it is. They had a problem with water that got into the deisal tank and no the engine only starts with a lot of ether. $500 doesn't buy much these days, and I will be all over this one if it's worth it.

I can't tell much by the picture. If fresh fuel was put in it and the water bled out, more than likely the injection pump will have to be rebuilt. That is usually expensive. More than what they want for the tractor.

Peatland Exports in the UK have info & parts & a website for Leyland/Nuffield tractors.
This tractor might have a Perkins or Leyland engine installed..

My Nuffield 3/45 is an excellent tractor & works hard every weekend.

An idea of the model can be determined by the transmission..If the sticks are either side of the seat its a synchro box ..Like a 262 or 272..If the sticks are between the legs it's older like commonly a 260 or 270 ....My bet is a 270 the leyland engines are excellent and hold on to your hat on the road...Dry brakes had a mind of their own and were poor but could lock up too...Wonderful draught and hyd control and good weight transfer..grip was excellent.
Very underrated tractors and their evolution into the yellow "marshall's" that ended the line sadly...If you're not aware search a marshall 804 ...You'l see the same tractor with a case cab...?
