Hey Guys,

You may recall my recent request for help locating parts for this tractor. It was a bad smoker. Really bad. I tore it down and have the block, complete head, pistons and rods in the machine shop waiting for a decision from the owner.

After 3 weeks of the tare down, locating parts and having everyone on hold the owner told me to forget it....Just keep the tractor. Yeah right what am I going to do with it. I must admit before the tare down I used a 6' box blade and drug it up and down my 150' driveway over and over to get it up to temperature (as hot as I could get it) and it never went over 200*. The 3 point hitch and hydraulics work flawlessly. As did the clutch, transmission and rear end.

The lift arms, sway chains and links are gone......
The front axle, spindles and wheels are gone......

The rest of the tractor, dash, rear wheels/tires, rear end, steering, transmission, bellhousing, wiring/electrical, crank, cam, rockerarm, rod and main caps all there....including oil, fuel and hydraulic pumps....and all the junky sheetmetal (which IMO is useless)

Serious bids only, and starting at 6 beers of my choice.

If anyone needs this tractor and parts but does not have beer money, that's ok too. Because I just hate to take it to salvage, especially after driving it and everything operating so well (except the smoking engine).

Best Regards, Mark

So is it your money all tied up in parts Mark, or is it the owners? And would it be worth it if you have the parts to rebuild the motor to go and rebuild it and then sell it? This is a major disappointment i'm sure for you after all the time you have invested in it. Here's your chance Wingnut and it ain't to far away from you either.

Hey Dur,

No, I don't have too much in parts....filters, oil and the like. But I sure had a bunch of people sitting on the edge waiting for me to give them the ok to ship. Feel really bad, and will start making apologies Monday. I got three guys from three states that located all the parts and were ready and willing to ship to KS. and then here to me.

It's really only worth something if someone already has one. I know I paid $43.11 each for two glow plugs....that's an indication of how much parts costs on the darn thing. So if somone needs 3/4 of a Simplicity/Allis Chalmers/Massey Ferguson let me know soon, as mixed scrap is 2.40 a 100 lbs. and that's probably where it will end up.

Yes. I have considered it but not too seriously. Maybe I should give it some more thought. Mostly, I was trying to find someone who needs parts desperately, not wealthy and a member of a tractor forum.

Mark

BTW: I wasn't serious about the beer.

Mark, did you sell the rest of the AC 5020? I have one with only 1080 hours and probably will need parts sometime. As you know, parts are tough to come by . . . Mine runs great at this time. I only use it for pulling a 3 point finish mower. What are you asking and what is available? Dan Dalrymple, Wooster Ohio. go2erie@sssnet.com

Dan, Welcome to MTF!

Yes I still have it. As of my last post....I just parked it and refused to take it to the salvage yard, as it may look horrible but it did operate perfectly mechanical wise. If you draw an imaginary vertical line from the fuel tank down to the bell housing back - the tractor is complete.

I DID keep the starter, alternator, radiator, hyd. pump, injector pump and all engine internals (crank-cam etc.) except the block, pistons and rods.

I will not take money for parts from any member of MTF. I will, however consider any interesting trade that YOU decide is worth 2/3rds of a non running AC 5020...

If you're truly interested I can take a few pictures....and then maybe you'll change your mind LOL.
