I bought this governor of the 'bay

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120395489937

and according to the seller it fits:

D2, D4, and power units D3400, D4400, D311, D315, etc

I'm using this on "something else". (Cletrac/Oliver chassis with Toyota 20R and 4 speed!!!)

My question is, can someone confirm FOR CERTAIN the mounting orientation, that is bracket down as pictured, bracket horizontal, etc? or does it matter? It has no oil connection, seems to be sealed. So the 2nd question:

What kind/ weight of oil do I use? I'll probably take the rear housing off just to inspect.

Google rides again. I've managed to find a couple of online photo sets of restored D2's, and have the answer!!!

from this guy's page

came this crop, showing a clear view of how it "sits"

UP, more questions. Anyone have the illustration of this thing torn apart? It looks to me like it's missing part of the weights. Can post a picture later

Well I got a diagram from Cat, but I still don't know what oil and how much to use. Anyone?
