I am finally able to drive the PowerKing. :bannana:

After about 10 months of working on my little project, I finally have a running / drive-ible Power King 1614. I am attempting to upload a video for you guys to see, and if I am able to do so I'll post the link back to this thread.

A few of you may recall the story regarding this tractor...

Around 1993, the engine had thrown a rod and cracked the block. The original owner had tore the motor down on his work bench, but unfortunately he passed away prior to getting the tractor put back together. I bought it from a guy who had bought it from the widow of the deceased original owner.

I had an adventure trying to locate a motor for the tractor (mostly due to my location). I finally located a motor for it, and I have installed the motor. I located a Kohler magnum m14 with a pull starter, so I would still like to convert it over to electric start. For now, I am going to live with the pull starter (this tractor is only for show and pulling my lawn trailer).

I want to paint the tractor sometime in the next month or so. My goal is to have it ready for the local tractor show the 3rd weekend in October.

Hey, that's great! It even sounds right. I heard that shift too. Shows it's a true Power King!

haha,

That was me just trying to shift into 2nd. I changed all of the fluids in it over the weekend, and I was relieved that the oil look ok (better than expected).

This was also my first time ever actually driving a PowerKing.

I am going to put all of the sheet metal back on the tractor after I have a chance to paint it.

I'm just funnin with ya. That's the way they shift. It just tells people you have a Power King. That engine sounds good.

Now, if you drained and filled the transmission, be sure you didn't fill it too full. 1/2 pint is all it takes. If you filled it until the oil comes out of the hole, it's too full and needs to be drained before you damage the seals.

I sprayed my first color coat on the 1614 over the weekend:

I was going to go with the Case Power Red paint, but my closest dealer is over 60 miles away. I decided to paint this project using the Valspar AC orange (it's a very close color match (looks the same to me)). The tractor is going to be stored in the shed out of the sun, so I am not too concerned about the fading potential of the Valspar paint.
