I would love to put one on my new Husqvarna. Please give the info on where to get the tach and how you cut the hole in the dash.

AYP used to have a plant in Swainsboro, GA. This seller has a lot of AYP parts on eBay. I wonder if they have a parts warehouse there still?

Hi ya old buddy. I thought you must of got yourself another ROOF HELPER , is why I have not seen you around on the forum etc. I had a good talk with Jeannie and told her oops I should say I ASKED her if I could get more CHROME for the GT-5000 and she said yep not a problem but why have I not added more lights to the tractor. Well funny thing is she has not taken a look at the trailer as of late with the new lights on it and also when you lift the hood there is four blue lights that come on and I just don't know why but they seem to be next to the under hood chrome and makes it look like about eight lights. LOL... Do you want me to tell them about you and the tach? Sortta the same story on mine.HUM?????? Good to see you back out there .

Topdj,
Do you recall how you wired the tach to the engine?

Is your tach electronic or magnetic pickup off of the crank?

Don't have the tach yet. But I want to install something along the lines of what Topdj has there. My dash ('05 husqvarna GT2254) only has one gauge, which is the voltage.

I took a peak out on ebay and saw this...says it's cable driven http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-STEWART-WARNER-TACHOMETER-WITH-HOURMETER-TRACTOR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33679QQihZ021QQ itemZ310009013708QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW#ebayphoto hosting

But whatever is the easiest (and cheapest) to install is what I'm up for. Not sure what the peak RPMs I whould be looking for either? Thanks!

The one your looking at seems ok. Your max RPM should be 3600rpm's so that one should work. Not sure how you'll hook it up though. You have to hook the cable onto the end of the crank somehow. It will be quite accurate IMO being a 1:1 ratio right off the rotating shaft.
