This is my new toy my husband just bought for me. Couldn't find an IH forum to put it in.

You are one lucky woman to have a man like that!

That is a really nice toy your husband got for you! :fing32: I can attest to how well they perform. I let a neighboring farmer cut the hay off of my river bottom pasture and they have a IH 284. Does a real nice job and does not burn a lot of fuel getting the job done. Yours looks to be in real nice shape and appears to have been well cared for. Enjoy!

From the oil under the tractor in the picture it looks like someone has been performing some maintenance. I strongly recommend changing ALL of the fluids and filters to establish a known maintenance baseline to start off with. Pay close attention to the oil and fluids that you take out inpecting for signs of excessive wear (metal debry/fine flakes and oil in the coolant) New fuel filters and always running a good quality fuel additive is also a good practice.

I ate breakfast at the Castle Country Kitchen today just outside of Urbana on rt. 36. They brought me a plate of food with so much on it that i coudn't eat it all. I heard good things about it from other drivers and finally had time to stop in and check it out. I will be going back if i get the chance. :fing32:

Durwood...they have great food...they also have a place in New Carlisle and Mechanicsburg. If you come away from that place hungry then there's a problem. Glad ya had the chance to stop and try it out. :)
