As much as possible I think that you should get more technical.

Like why not turn the crank .040" So the cam is pitted a little. Can't the bearing surfaces just be polished? The cam is worn. How much is wiped off the lobes?

I know that we have some old timers that know what you are talking about. But some of the readers might not know what to look for when doing a rebuild.
