Thought I'd start this thread so Murray owners could tell of places to get cost-effective parts.
Walmart has some stuff but they certainly aren't "everyday low prices"!! Examples:Air filter: $17.50!! Oil filter: $15.95!! Tires were decent at $20.
Checked out Advance auto parts to get fuel line and a filter and saw some Murray parts!! Oil filter: $9.09. Voltage regulator(forget price but was reasonable). Didn't see an air filter however. They had spark plugs, fuel filters and other items specifically for Murray tractors.
Please list alternative parts places.

NAPA does a good job in my area for parts very seldom needed by "OTHER". Parts they have to order are usually available in 2 days.

On the oil filters: don't look for one specific to your Murray. For example, if it has a Tecumseh engine (at least the OHV175), the oil filter will crossreference to a Purolator L10241, or a Fram PH3614 I think it is. No more than 3 bucks at any auto retailer.
The Briggs oil filter crosses to the same number I think.

Any good parts store... up here the crew at Carquest seems to have their act together well. Have bought components for my 110 JD RF, just down there again last weekend buying parts for my Case 444. Didn't get one puzzled look at all, they just went in back and came back with the correct parts.

O'Reilly's autoparts store carries some parts, too.
I've found that my local small engine repair shop has competitive prices on some of this stuff, too. They were a tiny bit cheaper on mower belts than Wal-mart, too. Wal-mart was out, anyway!

Western Auto has a great supply of parts!!! And good prices. Found a 'tune up kit' for $21.50! (oil, air filter, plugs and fuel stabilizer). One with an oil filter was about $34.00.
The parts guy at our WA is VERY knowledgeable of Murrays too.

I'm a Murray fan myself and 95% of my stuff comes from Ebay. I have three riding mowers so its not a matter of life or death to wait for something to ship. Tractor Supply Co. has a decent selection of Murray parts which is odd considering they've never sold Murray, at least to my knowledge. Some of their "Huskee" store brand machines were made by Murray though.

I found a mower repair shop that gave me a goooddd deal on Tec parts even though he is a Briggs dealer. Got a needle, seat, float, and float pin for $13 looking on line a float would cost more than that and then have to pay shipping.
