I have a 1997 JD 430. I`m considering a 3pt for it. How many other tractor models used the SAME 3pt hitch?
Also, for my brother, same question about a 2004 X485. Looking for used 3pt for either tractor, and/or a good blueprint or mechanical drawing of the 3pt. We have a machine shop at our disposal to fabricate these ourselves if we have the sizes to go on. Or we might adapt another model to fit our tractors.
If someone could post pictures or would be willing to send pictures of the 3pt and maybe a few measurements to my email, let me know.
Thanks

Bill Ruegg manufactures a 3 point system. I bought one from him for my JD 455. It is a quality product.

Joe, there are several classes of 3pt mounts. The sub CUT's are typ CLS 0, CUT's are CLS 1 and the larger tractors are CLS 2.

Your JD 4xx is likely to use a CLS 0 mount.

If you are looking to make your own, AEGT5000 had posted a drawing, and a little howto on how to build your own.[I think it was him anyway] I cant find it now, maybe it was on the old board, but it was a nice simple setup, that looked farly easy to build.

Thanks Paul.
Maybe AEGT5000 or someone else will remember where those drawings are and post a link.

Lawn farmer Currently the only hitch avaliable for the Cub Cadet GT2500 series is a electric lift sleeve hitch Cost varies from dealer to dealer

WELCOME Openminds. You will find Ingersoll 3ph on ebay quite a lot. Last I looked at a MF Ingersoll, the back part looked the same as my 444, so I think it would work.

Guys,

All of the info on the Cat 0, 3 point hitch I made is in the manuals
library of THIS FORUM :

But remember, this hitch is specific to Bolens large frame tractors
models 1250, 1455, 1476, 1477 and 1886-01 thru –04.
You can try painting it green, but I don’t think it’s gonna fit the Deere.

The back is basically the two frame rail ands, 12" apart, with a flat bracket across the back. It is basically 90 degrees to the ground. (Not slanted like some I have seen.) I have the mower bag attachment and that bracket slides over the top two bolts that come out of the top of the rear frame rails. I would assume the hitch I need would have a very similiar bracket. I found This sleeve hitch (http://www.sears.com/download/own/24535e.pdf ) from Sears. Now I start asking myself "What's the difference between a sleeve hitch and a 3pt hitch? I just want to be sure I will be able to use.

I bet you can tell I am rather new to this. Well, I am and I think I may have picked up a bug cause I am already looking at some compact tractors in our local tractor graveyard.

For most uses a sleave hitch will be fine for a garden tractor. There is a little more control with the 3ph, but a sleve hitch will do wonders. Now your setup sounds a bit diferent then mine. Are you sure your model is an ingersoll built tractor? Is your bagger hydroic driven? Hear is a pic of my Ingersoll 224 [small wheel version of the 444] with a sleve hitch.

Yup, positive. The gentleman that has been helping me with parts referred to an Ingersol 114 as the 116 has a 5speed rear and mine is hydrostat. My bagger isn't driven by anything. (Hope I'm not missing something here) I will get some photos soon. Right now I can not mount the hood due to a missing bracket. My parts guy is on it and says I should have it in a couple weeks. But I'll get a pic before then.

I was just thinking that if someone was handy enough to make one, they could adapt it to most tractors. Lots of good info and ideas there.

What a great site!!!

I have been looking and looking for a forum like like and I was going to start one if I couldn't find one!

I have a John Deere 455 and would like to add a box blade for it but I need to purchase a 3 point hitch first. It seems like most of the used box blades that I have found are for Category 1 3-point hitches.

Is it okay to use a Category 1 3-point hitch on a JD 455?

Thanks!
