Brownie passed the other day after being our faithful cat. Brownie came into our lives after we found her cold and hungry the third day we moved onto our property ten years ago. On that day after we found her I went into town and bought a bag of cat food, she never left and always would greeted by me rolling over and waiting for me to pet her.
She was always hunting the mice around our home making sure that not one mouse ever set foot near our house. She did not care to come into our home except when it was really cold and then would not walk around inside that much.
She loved our dogs and would play with them and after the dogs got tired and would lay down, she would get up and walk over and lay down with them and go to sleep with them if they layed down next to the front door.
The only time she ever would walk across the living room was if I sat down in my easy chair then she would walk across the living room and would climb up into my lap and fall asleep purring the whole time.
I found her Tuesday morning in the garage on my Kubota tractor all curled up and when I walked over I found that she had passed in her sleep, This the first cat that I ever enjoyed as she was independent and never asked for much.
I took her to the vet yesterday and had her cremated and plan to bury her ashes under the flagpole that I put up last September as she loved to lay on the ground next to it after the flag pole went up.
At her last check up the vet warned me that she had advanced heart diasese and might not last the winter. The vet estimated that she was probably about 18-20 years old and she was getting mighty old for a cat.
So long Miss Brownie.
