My father in-law inherited a Jacobsen Chief tractor from a late uncle, and I am trying to help him get it back in working order. It's a 1000, serial number 53036-2576. I couldn't guess what year, but it's orange and has round headlamps.

He's trying to get the snow thrower attachment to work, but it keeps throwing the belt. My first question would be where I could get a replacement belt, and the second would be if anyone has a PDF or something similar that will show us if we have the thing hooked up correctly. He seems to recall that the snow thrower sat higher than it does now, but everything seems to be mounted the right way from what I can tell. The serial number on the thrower is 59644-1804, and he does know that it did work in the past, so it is compatible with the tractor.

I suppose that's about it, I could get pics next week if someone wanted to get a peek at it; the thing is like a time capsule.

This machine is the same as a Ford LGT, so I would go to that forum and ask those guys as they know these machines really well, also it would be helpful to post pics. :goodl:

The 1000 is actually the same as the Ford 100, I've got a Chief 1000 with a 2 stage blower, maybe,if I can get thru the snow, I can take a picture of the drive setup. It's parked for the winter in my barn 1/4 mile from here. If you don't see a picture in the next couple of days, send me a message 'cause I forgot!

Forgot, take the belt to NAPA, they can measure it and come up with a replacement.
