I was wondering if I could get the left gage wheel bracket (mowing deck part)? I always called it an anti-scalp wheel, but the bracket is bent pretty good. It doesn't appear to be welded to the deck, and I can see two nuts holding it to the deck, so I'd like to just replace it, rather than beat the tar out of it, and hope it is close to the other wheel.

GX20361JDY is the right hand bracket.
left is your left as you sit on teh tractor. KIG has them for 13.99 each.

Rob, as David mentioned, you can get all kind of parts information and diagrahms for your L120 at JD Parts, just need to register and go from there.

Thanks again. Do you know if the part I ordered is already painted? Also Jim, I love your blade on the front your Deere, do you know if I can get something like that for mine?Do they still sell them new, or do I need to look for a used one?

Hey Rob, Thanks for the compliment, yes it serves me very well. It's from Bercomac http://www.bercomac.com/index_ang.php, my dealer got it for me when he was not able to get one for me from JD in a timely manner. Don't know how much the one on ebay is you found, but you might check with your local dealer on one also to compare price. He can also get you the weights and chains. There is a weight bracket that installs on the rear of the L120, you only need to install once and it stays there, then the hanging weights set right into it.

I had to replace both of my front gage wheel brackets as they do get bent as time goes on. My L-120 has something over 450 hours on it and still running great.
The tractor deck is getting pretty well used up but still in great shape for a tractor that was decried as a consumer grade (similar to a Craftsman) It now has some rust on it, but it still mows the yard great and it has outlasted everything I have thrown at it over the last 6 seasons.

Yeah, I was actually worried about getting this mower, until I found this site. I did a general search, and all the reviews said it had a weak hydrostat. Mine has 150 hrs on it, so if it makes it up to 450 with no problem, I'll be happy. Perhaps then I will go to a JD dealer and get an upgrade.:thThumbsU

I have never better served by a mower then this one. Just the other day I had to move it and I had forgot to winterized it this season. I cranked on it for a couple seconds and it fired up with a great roar and ran smoothly.
I will try and get it winterized between now and New Years but I still have to start it and run it once in a while so I just use some gas stabilizer on it and fill the tank.
One thing I noticed lately is it needs a muffler, It is getting really loud and there is some rust at the outlet so I am thinking that it might be time to think about getting a new one.
I have had zero problems with the engine and the transaxle so I am happy with the money I spent in 2002 when I bought it.

Part came in today, it was already painted (a friend doubted it would be).
I was also wondering how to date this L120. I assumed about 2005 ish, but am unsure. I am supposed to be getting a card for warranty within the next few weeks, I work with the guy I got it from, but didn't know if there was another way?

If you look on the left rear above the tire and under the fender is a decal with the product identification number and date of manufacture.
See this link for more info.
