Bought a 1750 from my neighbor. Needed a hydraulic pump. and one injector. Bought the pump, mooched the injector off the nephew. Even has a heater and a radio,
Paid a whole whopping $2500

Got a set of Oliver 4-16 plows with cushion resets from the same guy for $300. Even has good shares, moldboads and land sides on it!

That's a nice looking machine. Although I've never owned an Oliver, I've always admired them. Unfortunately unless a neighbor like yours moves in, it will probably remain that way. What's your plans with it?

I started out raising organic vegetables. Mostly using a couple garden tractors, Market expanded enough I ended up on some rented ground. The owner has a 950 JD subcompact I was using.

The killer was getting things mulched enough to stay ahead of the weeds. :banghead3 I can get chopped mulch from my brother gut 45 miles each way was not feasible.

I ended up buying a 717 New Holland chopper in pretty good shape for $500, and got a n older Grove self unloading wagon for $100 without running gear. I all ready had a set of running gear. The 950 will run the chopper but it really makes it work for it.

now I can chop the mulch right in the wagon, drive down the rows and unload it right onto the strips before I set out my veggies. Makes it easy, I 50 inch wide strips with a Howard rototiller and leave 12 feet between the strips. The 12 feet gives me somewhere to drive.

Since I got the bigger tractor I've branched out into small grains

Nice tractor...great price. :fing32:

Always did like the style of that Oliver, dad demo'd one new back in the day, but chose a different make.
