To go along with the electric tractor I am converting a 42" deck to a tow behind and electric.

I started cutting the brackets off of the deck today. Lots of welds to grind out.

Will post a pic tomorrow of the deck with the brackets removed and the arm that will raise and lower it from the sleeve hitch. Hopefully I'll have the arm attached also.

I got all of the brackets cut off, the arm to lower the deck bracket welded on, and I'm working on the wheels. It's been raining all day today so no pics until I get a chance to mount the deck shell to the sleeve hitch to try it out. Then I'll still have to add the motors but most of the fab work will be done.

Sounds good. I have a 60s Toro/Springfield 42" mower deck that is complete and in great condition except for eveything that should move doesn't. I'm tossing the idea of electrifying it at some point, so this is a good thread to see how yours works, that sleeve hitch idea sounds cool.
