Here is a W-4 that I restored, it had sat in the woods for so long that the rims had settled into the ground, the paint had turned pink, 3" trees were growing around it, the engine was stuck (bad), the base pan was full of water (no muffler or cover over the exhaust-hence seized engine), brought it home and spent the next year restoring it. I converted it to 12v -thats why the hood has a cut to accomidate the GM alternator, I have a new battery box to put on it and decals. I took every nut and bolt apart, front to rear. I was lucky -the guy who gave it to me ( just to get it towed away) also had the original owners manual, so I had all the torque information. Over the year I had some challenges, broke a bolt off in the connecting rod....that was just a start!!! I found it very relaxing... and the best part...satisfaction.... is the first time you start it and it purrs like a kitten. Called the guy to come see it....he was surprised...I think I saw a tear in his eye.
You will notice a small hydraulic cylinder on the front- I put a snow plow on the front of it and use a 12v one directional lift hydraulic pump. I also need a few parts....new fenders,PTO take off cover ...
Gotta love those old tractors.:trink39:
