Oscar was our 17 year old cat... he hasn't been doing well since Smokey was put down last February, she was 18. They grew up together and I think her loss sped up his aging.

It's a long story, but he's in a better place now... he's had an enchanted 17 years on earth, including having been able to live in 4 states, CT, NM, MO & TX. We'll miss him... as so will the dogs (Alex & Abby).

I'm sorry to hear that tc, it's never easy to loose the cherished companions we have in our pets, they become like family. My thoughts go out to you and yours.

Sorry for your loss of your family member.
Had our 23 year old cat put down about 1-1/2 years ago and now the 13 year old seems to be fading.

Sorry to hear about the loss. It's always tough to lose a longtime pet. They've shared so much of life with us.

Those that don't have a pet cannot understand how an animal can become a part of the family. I've had four dogs pass away in my 42 years of marriage and currently have a 2 yr old standard poodle who is a very close friend. She is also my first female. My sympathy goes out to you. The only problem with pets is that they don't love long enough. Jack:sorry1:

I surely can feel your loss. Cats fill a special kind of place and when they leave it's a very very empty place. Get a rescue kitten!:)

Sorry to hear. I know how it feels having lost MANY pets over the years. Last year I had to have my vet put down my little dog...."Nubby". My wife was taken back seeing me cry like a baby afterwards. I loved that old dog!

Thanks everybody. I picked up his ashes last night, he's in a nice cedar box that will be planted on a new shelf... somewhere mounted near the ceiling... he always liked being on a ledge, the top of the cabinets, or on the back of the furniture...

we still have the 2 labs.... they're gonna be tough to lose if I out live them....

tc

thanks again...
