What is the easiest way to remove the hubs? I have a puller and they will not budge. I am almost afraid of breaking them at the lip. I need to remove them so I can pull the outer housing and replace the seals that are leaking. Any hints??

There use to be some pics on some other Gravely sites of a wheel knocker,,I never used one but it basically was a cap for over the axle and if I remember you would place a bind on the hub with a bar and hit the knocker with a hammer,,,,, course I suppose you could do the same with a puller by hitting the screw,,, just have to watch not to put to much pressure on the puller and crack the hub. Personally I loosen the lock nuts on the axle and run it for a few day/weeks if it's a planned repair.

There is a pic of the device in the Gravely forum.

Man last ones I had off they almost fell off. Guess thats why I had to get new ones huh? :D :D
js5020d has the idea. Pull the hubs out, and find a way to wack the shaft without hurting it.

as a last resort i have just loosened the six bolts holding the housing and taken wheel, hub and housing off.you have to block the gravely up to where the tire just clears the ground and pull the whole assembly straight out. of course you're bringing the axle with the hub and have to be light on the touch putting it back in.

I finally got them off. I used a large 3 finger puller and after tightning it down I tapped the end with a hammer and bing! The previous owner had used a nail for a keyway and it was rusty. That was probably what was holding it. The other side came off fairly easy.
