Next spring I would like to make a water pump and tank unit for my walkbehind for fertilizing, watering the garden, etc and have a water pump from my tractor PTO and wondering if anyone has ever made a 1 3/8" 6 spline PTO adapter like tractors use that could have unlimited uses.
Here is a pic of the setup I had on my Yanmar and starting to put together some ideas for the Gravely. I could also have a PVC boom sprayer to mount on the rear of my sulky for liquid fertilizing the lawn.

Any ideas?

Well I have a couple,,,, does the current pump have an adapter on the pump shaft that converts it to the tractor pto? If it does then you could remove that adapter and mount 1/2 a lovejoy coupler on the pump shaft, locate a Gravely pto adapter and put the other half on it's shaft, make up a mounting plate to keep the pump from spinning and plumb it,,, had an old junk sprayer someone had rigged like this. Would an electric pump be a better option?

Ya, I would rig up a lovejoy connector to a 30" mower drive [or any one you happan to find. I belive they can be run on there side, and would eaven kick the pump off to the side, so the tractor is not that long.

You could also ge a flywheel pulley and belt drive the pump...

Call Joel @ 502-484-3988...and ask if the BCS adaptor will fit on your Gravely...

I think the belt pulley would probably work out the best. If I can find me a mower drive arm and remove the end gear and weld a pulley and then make a mounting plate so it doesn't spin.

Hhhmmm, where to find a used mower drive arm?

Don't know the rpm rating of the pump your using but I would keep it in mind when deciding how to go about this,, straight out of the tranny with a pto unit is gonna be something around 900 rpm in low and 1200 in high full throttle, and though I never saw any rpm calculations for the mower drive unit I'd say it's gonna be 3 to 4 times those numbers?

I am sure it would be. I think the blades actually turn at about 15000-18000 rpm's??

I would have to find a pulley chart and do some figuring.
