The Oil Pressure has dropped to less than 5 psi :fing20:

I have a total $1029 invested (tractor price and parts plus a whole lot of sweat equity) The engine started smoking again but still idles smooth. There is no oil getting up to the head either.

well obviously if you arent getting oil to the head the run it and pray option is out.

I'd inframe it and hang a forsale sign on it, unless you are really attached...

you could always find a TO-35 with live power and live hydraulics... i have one, and though im an IH man, its a sweet little tractor.

My thought if your going to go through the trubble of number one, for a little more I would do number two. I assume you have done at least one oil change on this tractor sence you have had it? Sounds like maybe a POC got lodged somewere. If you have not changed the oil, try that first. If so, do two. You will still have less then 2 grand in it, and that tractor will be worth that.

You didn't say whether the 5 psi was hot or cold. If it drops after warming up, I would say the cam brgs. are worn out.

No effect from being hot or cold always a little under 5 psi! :banghead3

Wingnut, if you are not getting oil to the head then this should be an out of frame so the block can be cooked to clean all the passages.

Rods or mains should make enough noise so that you can hear them with a stethisocpe. If quiet then go with 2. You can pop the pistons and look at the bore. Don't know how the oil passages are on the TO so don't know where they would plug. Something in an oil passage might be able to back flush it if can find place to force diesel fuel through.

There are times when you just want to sit down and cry!

I didn't see any mention in all your threads as to how much oil pressure it had when you first got the 30. If it was near normal, is it possible the MM knocked a bunch of crud loose and oil pump strainer is blocked or something has pressure relief valve stuck partially open?

The oil pressure was weak (20 psi). I haven't pulled the oil pan yet planning on doing sometime today or tomorrow. I am sure I will find so much crud that I will probably shoveling it out

Well, good luck. Hope it turns out to be something simple and cheap.

Since I have rebuilt the Hydraulics and Transmission look good and felt tight. I decided to rebuild the engine so the tractor will last another 50 years!
