Here is my "bitza LI" The trans is a late LI trans, and the motor is a 6.6hp motor from a 50's Postal L. Smokes, leaks, but works like a dog!!!! I dont have a pic of my '44 L. Its stashed in the back of the shed right now.

Here is a old Gravely reel mower that I will restore for the '44. Its the old style, that cant be reversed. Think it will be a nice match with the old 5hp '44

So that is what my 1974 Gravely Commercial 12 should look like. :sidelaugh
It has been owned on my mothers side since new, even have the family steering sulky for it. We use the gravely every now and then for brush hogging. I also have a blade for it.
I have a model L in one of the semi trailers, it is in a few managable pieces for storage purposes, going to assemble it one day, install the LI gearset so the sickle mower works at the right pace.

Couple quick pics...
Picked both of these machines up this past summer. The C12 on the left runs great and needs nothing. The C12 on the right is solid also, but need some work to get it running.

Just found this forum as I was pointed to it. Glad its here.
Here is what I have now and growing again. The last 3 pictures are two of the last tractors that I had and sold a few years ago.
1975 C12 runs like a top. I just got it a couple of weeks ago.

What's a postal L?
Nothing really special to from what I've seen. There was one for sale locally not too long ago and looked to be a mid-late 50's or 60's L painted in an overall piss yellow and was made for the US Postal Service.

Ya, they were just a run of the Gravely L's back in the 50's that were made for the postoffice/ As was said, they were a bright yellow color.
Some interesting pictures showing up here. Good thread going. Probably be quite a few more posts here. Hmmmm, could there be video material available again?????

My newest addition to the collection. Found a gentleman selling this 28" quick hitch snowblower w/ drift cutters (not attached in pics). I've been looking for a clean 34" quick hitch to use since my 32's are both down at the moment, but I couldn't pass this one up.
Overall condition is very clean, but I need to free up the chute a little since it won't turn very smooth.

Nice snow blower. I have been keeping an eye open locally for a nice one like that. Nothing like that comes up for a decent price locally. Of course my old square shoot still works so well that I don't really need a different one.
Andy
P.S. Looks like you snow blower needs a diaper change:hide:

Ok, I'll play along. First is my Simplicity finish saw, next my wizard, 2 of my Gravely's, The wall of my barn, w/ a mint sulkie, the wheels for my rotary plows, and the guards for my 30 inch decks. I'll have to get more pictures of the Bolens, David Bradley, and maybe a group photo in the Spring. Ed
That's the spirit! Come on now.

These are some pics of my two Simplicity's I got this past summer. The one with the rusted out round gas tank has started (but not run for any length of time), and the other has a locked engine. Was unemployed for most of the year in '09 so I wasn't able to do a lot on them. But I think I have a job now so as soon as I do (and we get some warmer weather!!) I'll be tearing into these to get them going...

Morris I like the front mounted cultivator. Hang onto it, you don't see many of them around. Any idea what models the tractors are? The one with the rotten tank looks like a model L, the other one is throwing me, I can't place that engine. Looks like a Briggs 5s?
:thanku: for the pics & good luck with the rebuild :fing32:

Good question, AcreFarm... I think the one with the round tank is an N Briggs, and yes, Model L, but not sure about the other, but 5s sounds about right. I had the numbers written down but can't find them, and they are at my other house. I'll have to go over there and dig them out and get those numbers again. At least both still have the number plates on the engines, and I think at least one of the tractors still has a plate on the frame somewhere.
BTW, these pics were taken by the guy I bought them from, at his house in Maryland. All of those shelters/buildings in the back are crammed FULL of David Bradleys. Dozens of them. I had a blast walking around the place, naturally.

Got the numbers: the one with the locked engine is Model D walkbehind, with the 5S engine, but the carb isn't original. Someone put a carb intake with 4 hole-mounting onto the motor, which only has 2 holes. The one with the rusted tank is indeed a Model L with a Briggs N engine. Braved the cold awhile to work on it today. Got it to "puff" once but it's just not cooperating. I'm thinking a weak spark, but it was just too darn cold to try tearing into it. (no heat in shop).

That is probably the correct carburetor for a 5S. Here's a pic of one of mine, there are 4 holes on them. The model D came with a Briggs N, I'd guess someone transplanted the 5S many years ago.

Hmm, makes sense, AF. I just posted a new thread (http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=109516) on my walkers so we can further the discussion on there; dont want to derail the pictures thread in progress. Glad you pointed that out, it looks just like mine. So now I need to hunt for good N engine...

Hey All,
These are my BCS machines. They're a bit newer than the others, but hopefully still qualify...
First one shows my 730 set up for digging potatoes. Second and third ones show my snow removal crew - the same 730 with a 40" sweeper, a 605 with 28 inch snow blower, and an 850 with a 60 inch snow blade.

Nice machines you have there Bill and they sure do qualify by me,,, always said if I ever couldnt keep the Gravely running there would be a BCS of Grillo to take its place.

yes it is Rescuemo 1959 no hood DB and needs complete teardown but was free.It sat in a womans flower garden for 10 yrs i guess. then her daughter and son-inlaw moved in with her and didnt like it so it got moved down by the wall . so i stopped and asked they said get it out of here so we dont have to bring it to the dump. i figure for free even if i never get it running i could put it in my flower garden .:)
