Well yesterday i took the deck off of my old Snapper RER to weld a couple of cracks and a few rust holes that was popping up. While i had the deck apart i changed out the bearings in the spindle. They needed it bad glad i did it much less noise and now i know its good to go. While putting it back together everything went back just fine expect the tolerance ring. I ran out of tolerance so it didn't go back. Is that going to hurt anything as it seemed to fit OK with out it and it cuts great?

I would imagine the tolerance ring absorbs some of the stresses put on the spindle/bearing assembly, but how much affect it has on the life span of the bearing/spindle assembly I wouldn't know.

I go with Mows theory but hold on to the tolerance ring and check after a couple mowings to see if it will fit in after that. All new bearings and everything would really quiet them down (sweet) like a new mower.
