We have worked really hard on the design of these valves to prevent leaks. They look exactly like the original, but work BETTER than the original. We welcome any feedback and reviews from MyTractorForum users on these and any of our products.

Have a Great Day!
Elizabeth

I have a 1937 unstyled b with a 659 3way valve. My question is what the best way to stop it from leaking. I have installed new packings to no avail, tightened it still leaks and can't turn the valve. I'm running on empty trying to fix this. Do I need to put sealer on the threads of the packing nut? Any suggestions?

bleeding green, you may get the best response to your question if you post it in the tractor forum not in a vendors section.

Hey, I don't mind helping out! I'm wondering where you got the packing that you installed? Also, did you buy the 3 way valve as a new part from Steiner?

Originally, these were a notoriously poor design. What we've done is make our packing different than the original. It is a Graphite Infused (impregnated) cork. This provides a superior seal. We sell just the packing (for those wanting to repair their originals) for $2.10. Our part number is JDS863.

If you already purchased this new packing and that didn't solve your problem, then I'm not sure what other steps you can take. Most of the other component parts aren't available separately at this time. We will probably have to talk with Dan Steiner and see if he has any other ideas.

Did you buy the 3 way valve as a new part from Steiner? If so, then I'll swap it out for you, perhaps there is some sort of manufacturing defect inside. Give me a call and we can go over the details.

Thanks!

Elizabeth
