i dont know.. can i be mad at jacks for this?
I ordered a set of front deck wheels for my 50" deck..
i also ordered 2 belts for my deck.. seeing as i broke 2 of 1 specific belt i ordered that belt, and i ordered the other deck belt...
i ordered simplicity belts... instead of 'after market' belts..
so i got the stuff in the mail and found that instead of the simplicity belt, in one instance they gave me a sterns belt...
i called and questioned it, the CS rep automatically indicated i picked the wrong belt and told me id put in the wrong part #. prior to calling to bit ch, id checked and i indeed ordered the right one..
after she accused me of messing up.. and i told her the part # she said well i do not know why they would send you an after market belt.. Then, 'oh i see, the simplicity belt was backordered thats why'
But my issue:
1. if i wanted an after market belt, id have ordered one.
2. they charged me for the OEM belt not the after market one.
i told her i wanted the simplicity belt and she said sure we will ship it out to you as soon as we get it...
when i asked what to do with the old belt? she said, "keep it.. use it as a decoration or toss it..."
so i guess i get a spare belt out of the deal...
i guess i should be happy i got 2 belts for the price of one.. but im sort of ticked they just sent me an after market belt without discounting it or even indicating they were doing this...
oh one more thing: jacks was 10$ cheaper on one belt than a local dealer charged me.. and 15$ cheaper on the deck wheel kit...

SJ. i belong to many lawnmower related forums and i have yet to hear a good thing about jacks. ive heard many horror stories of credit cards being charged when the parts arent even in stock! then they give out a nasty email if you try to contact them for info. and this is several people on different forums i might add. they already admitted they didnt have the correct belt in stock so im guessing they hoped you didnt notice.i wouldnt hold your breath waiting for the right one. :fing20:

:ditto: I recall reading numerous threads about Jacks (mostly bad) in the past.

Send the wrong belt back and do it so they have to sign for it. If you don't, they can hold your credit card hostage forever.
Like "Mow" and "Bernie", I've never heard anything good about them. Most complaints that I recall had to do with slow delivery and wrong parts.

I must be a lucky one .. from what I have read here .. I have bought many items from them in the past two years.. I dont remember one thing being wrong .. worst case a little slow .. but not bad ... Jacks has 1000's and 1000's of parts listed on their web site. I dont know for sure .. but I would bet they dont stock hardly any ... and just have items drop shipped ..

its not the mess up to worry about, it the 'tude you got thats the key. Everyone messes up once in a wile, but to have that tude is inexcusable.

Considering that most people only post about their bad experiences rather than their good ones might be something to take into consideration. I'd be pissed about the shoddy phone treatment, though.

I have only gotten one thing from them, and it was fine myself.

I find this hard to believe. The only time I dealt with them is when ordering Gator blades. The transaction was smooth as glass and the blades were at my door in I think three days.
I dont mean its hard to believe in the sense I don't believe ya- its just that after waiting 13 days for a part that should have been here 4 days later, I Immediately think of the places I have had good luck with, and the places I havent. I guess it just sucks to put one in the "iffy" category when you have had good luck with them.
Anyway, No SJ- I dont think they should have done that. You should get what you pay for. And like Paul said, the attitude would do it for me. It would weigh greatly on my decision of future dealings.

I ordered one time from JAcks.........not what I would call a great experieince........wrong items shipped, prices were totally different on items that were right on their website and it took forever to get it all , as it came in numerous packages over about 4 weeks time.......The customer service sucks and I get the feeling, the customer is always wrong, and that Jacks hired help never screw up.....its always the customer.........Same basic thing with my friend who ordered some items, took forever, lots of promises, and when received were wrong..No more Jacks for me.

That's probably a good idea. You would have to censor the posts! Kind of like me be censored at the old TractorForum for posting positive experiences about my BAD RIVER HITCH ADAPTER.

I agree, but only afte ryou cvall them back up and tell em exactly why your no longer going to deal with them for trying to hide the fact with their removal of the sleeve on the Stearns belt.......for nothing more than to see what their excuse is and just to let them know that yu know what their little switheroo secret is........and you intend to inform the multitudes of others out there to the facts about their shadey business ways.............That may get their attention, for a short time anyhow...not that it would probably do any good.

I agree, but only after you call them back up and tell em exactly why your no longer going to deal with them for trying to hide the fact with their removal of the sleeve on the Stearns belt.......
ok well now i may have to apologize to jacks.. TBH, im not sure...
The 1st belt they sent me.. was white (the one on my deck is black) and in a Stearns sleeve.. but said simplicity on the inside of the belt...
The 2nd (replacement for sending me a Stearns) one they sent me is the exact same way, but not in the Stearns sleeve.. i just called and the CS guy said, you sure it was not just a simplicity belt in a Stearns cardboard sleeve??
he said, they'd gotten a ton of simplicity belts but without sleeve cases, so they put Stearns sleeves on them... does not really make sense to me, but the inside of both belts did not say Stearns on them.. they said simplicity..
so i guess maybe they sent me simplicity belts after all? my only question was the belt on my deck is black not white...
so i have no idea.. maybe i should be saying how good jacks is for sending me an extra belt for free?? :bonk:

Simple John, Jacks is a good place to stay away from. I`ve done business with them a few times, the last time was the last.
Needed a replacement Kolher CV15 Command Pro motor, they had just what I needed. So I ordered it online everything went fine got the email with order number should take 5 days to get it shipped to me.
Seven days later I get a phone call from Jacks, women says they having a problem with my Credit card info. I asked what wrong she tells me zip code is wrong and I can`t process your order. I ask her what`s the number and it`s the correct number for where I live.
And she said they need another card number. I said run it through again she no I`ve done it 2 time already. I asked did you call my credit card company to check the info., maybe you made a mistake entering my zip code. She said I need another card number. I told her that was the only one I wanted to use.
She said we don`t call credit card companies to verify anything. I said so that the end of it I guess. Your not going to do anything to make this sale go through just throw it away. I need another card number I said use the one you have, she hung up. I will never will do any business with them ever again.
I checked with my card company and all the info. was correct, I asked if business call to make sure info. is correct on high priced sale, all the time I was told. I finally got my motor through J-Thomas.com cost $519.00 for the same motor through Jacks had save cost to $200.00. I called and placed order over the phone and had the salemen verify my info. to make sure it went through, not a problem.
If you want parts for you Simplicty I use this web site they are Simplicity part. Just need part number and click on Simplicity on drop down menu. I`ve never had a problem with ordering part from them both on line and by phone. :fing32:

If you don`t have a parts manual go to http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/techpubsearch.php
enter your modrl number and it will come up in PDF format great way to look at your tractor the zoom in feature is very helpful show how a part is installed.
Here is another good place to do business with on line for simplicity parts use Snapper to find what you need just enter the Simplicity part number and it should come up with what you need I do this to check on prices before buying http://www.rcpw.com/Oem_Parts.htm
Here`s an example for the mower blades on a 44" cut deck, same number as Simplicity 44" cut deck same tractor just different brand name. Try the Belt number and see what you come up with. They sell OEM and aftermarket parts.

Don`t forget to add in shipping costs, I only order online because it easier then traveling 50 miles round trip, so you may save some money.
When I order mower blades it`s three sets at a time no down time that way.
I can change them while working or at home, always have extra parts with me belts, air filter etc.
I get my mower blades through Agri-supply, they sell OEM replacment blade that Gator blades makes for my Regent w/44" deck, link with price http://www.agrisupplyco.com/cgi-bin/cgiitmls m=ThisP&p=41119.000000&l=1
this is the link if you have the 50" mower deck http://www.agrisupplyco.com/cgi-bin/cgiitmls?m=ThisP&p=41120.000000&l=1
Best prices around, low prices due the number of blades they sell :fing32:
