This is a 1929 McCormick Deering that Scott found an ad for here in N.Y. When he went to look at it, the farmer said something like, I'll give you five minutes of my time - if you don't want it for the price- get out of my barn". The price was a thousand dollars and Scott had been looking for one for many years- a machine like his grandpa had. Scott said the man was straight forward about it and liked him.
It has 23 hp, can pull a 4 bottom plow, weighs 6000#, starts on gasoline then switches over to anything that will burn. This is a big tractor, the frame is cast iron! It was barn stored, has rust all over it but nothing is froze up. He started blasting and painting small stuff. The big things, like the frame, engine, he plans on wire wheeling. While fenders will come off to the blast guy. It will be grey with red engine /wheels- in a few years.

The last time I was told - "you can have 5 minutes of my time" - my come back was "I don't want 5 seconds of your time" and left. That was in an overhead door and siding business. For some reason that ticks me off worse than anything I know of and that's the answer they will get every time.

I missed this one never saw the pictures but 6000 pounds in 1929 I'd put money on it being a 22-36 F-30 is close to the weight and hp mentioned but they were not around until 1931. 1929 was the first year for a 22-36
