Do we have any OLD McCormick-Deering Buffs out there I need some help on paint Colors!!
I recently purchased a good running 1930 Regular I have it running like a top and now I want to paint the old Doll. Now for the problem I have been told that it was painted a dark gray by several people but I have been told by others that it was Farmall Red!
I have purchased several manuals on the tractor but none tells me the color! Is there a book a manual or???? I can purchase or is there someone out there that knows for sure Help Jim

Most likely it was dark gray, according to an excerpt from this book. Here's the link. It will tell you about the colors.

Wait a bit until Wingnut gets back...
He just did a 1937 (I think it was) F12. The color that he painted his looks pretty danged good... or... just take a look at his rebuild thread. http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=20526

Everybody seems to say Grey and red wheels, but I run a 1931 Regular which has unmistakeably red , apparently original, paint inside the PTO pulley where oil leakage protected it, so I tend to think that mine was all red.
