Well, I looked at and operated a Mahindra 1815HST about 2 months ago. Nice tractor, but it was a bit too big frame wise for my yard/applications, which is mowing, occasional FEL work and maybe a landscape rake to dress up some lawn areas needing fill. Otherwise, nice machine at an attractive price.

I just purchased a BX1850 with FEL and 54" MMM - should have it sometime next week.

Well I see there isnt much point asking about Mahindra tractors here, either no ones got them or they wont admit to it, wonder if I'll have better luck with the other brands I've been looking at, trying to decide what is value and quality to last the distance is like :banghead3

I have one and I would not hesitate buying another one if I needed another tractor.

As I stated earlier in the thread... My dad has one (Mahindra 6000).

If I were to buy a 'new' tractor (read that as 20 years old or newer)... My 1st choice would be a Mahindra.

My brother has a 6000 4WD also (brush hog, back-hoe, & front end loader)

I love running that machine! So does his neighbor...

I went and checked out the 4530 and 3015 today, the dealer certainly thinks there a great tractor if his price is anything to go by, $41200 for the45hp 4530 and $31700 for the 30hp 3015. I can get a new 35hp 3400 Kubota for the price they want for a 30hp Mahindra :omg: in fact I can buy Kubota, Branson, Yanmar, or Kioti cheaper than their Mahindra prices so they must really think the Mahindra is something speacial. Personaly I was surprised how cramped I felt in the drivers seat since they look quite large in size for there hp, looked good and solid but was shocked to see the paint bubbling up from rust underneath on a section of the 4530, that didn't inspire me with confidence about quality control may have been a one off slip up in the paint shop but I came away thinking my new tractor [if there ever is a new tractor, come on you lucky numbers] probably wont be a Mahindra since the Kioti KL30 is $25500, and seems quite comfortable even though it looks a smaller chasy. Now if Mahindra has a sudden size able price drop things might change but at those prices I cant see them selling too many

I've heard less than favorable reports on some of the "newer" brands of tractors... Kioti, Zetor, Belarus, etc... I'm not saying that these weren't biased reports, but still... The seemed to center on poorer quality castings, poorer quality parts and poor availability of replacement parts.

I didn't realize that Mahindra prices were that high!!! The last time that I had looked (probably 10 years ago?) they were offering package deals of the 35HP - 45HP tractors with 3 (or so) implements + a 16' trailer... in the $20,000 range....

Australia..Is the dollar amount the same as the States ??

Australia..Is the dollar amount the same as the States ??

$1 US = $1.1480 Aus

Would make that $31,700AU 3015 about $27,600US and the $41,200AU 4530 about $35,900US

(unless, of course, my calculations are WAY off... I'm not much of a financial whiz :hide:)

I dont think your prices are that high in USA, even allowing for the exchange rate our Australian prices are way higher than all the listed USA prices, dont know if its the dealers, makers, or our Government but someone is jacking the price up here. Speaking of exchange rate I remeber going to the States back in 1984 [gees showing my age now] 1AUD got 1.13 USD now it's the other way round, hell going back 8 months 1USD was 1.80AUD so I guess we are gaining, or are you slipping and to think I got all that stuff for my bike shipped over from the States right when our dollar was at its lowest, oops

I have looked at the Mahindra's , nice tractors... but we already have so many big tractors, I couldn't justify the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ plus we would have to add on AGIAN to the Tractor shed......:omg: :omg:

However, Brother in law has a big... ( I think 45 hp) Mahindra farm tractor... he loves it.. uses it all the time..:thThumbsU

That has been my concern with the tractors I've been looking at, Kioti, Branson, Yanmar, and Mahindra are all fairly new players to Australia, Zetor has been around for 15+ years here but been a minority player. I take it Mahindra has been around for a while in the States, there an unknown here which is why I was surprised they have priced themselves above the competitors, I went to check them out expecting a competitive price figuring they would be trying to break into the market.
So there is the problem, save some $ on a new player to the market or pay a lot more $ on a well known established brand that has 20+ year old tractors still going strong.
PS I said Yanmar was new to Australia and officially they only luanched in May this year so really new, but Grey market Yanmars have been here for years as my 30 year old YM1500d will conker so I expect there quality should be spot on

Just wondering

I have a 2003 C-35

I have a Mahindra 2810 T.L.B Gear drive. I am a retired heavy equipment operator. I think that pound for pound this tractor is as good as any I have ran. It was built in South Korea by T.Y.M. I am well pleased with it.

im getting a 2516 when i can afford it, test drove it a while ago and its the best one in opinion, 11,200 out the door aint bad either, the john deere tractor that compares to this would be close to 18 grand (it has a loader as wel)

You won't be lonely for the Mahindra name for long. I work at a former GM dealer(Good riddance!) and we are in process of getting one of the 400-plus Mahindra franchises coming to the US. One of the things we have done is to study the tractor line. This company is extremely protective of their quality control process and for good reason. They have an outstanding reputation for quality products.

So get ready to see advertising on everything fronm NASCAR to bike racing. They are coming soon with some great products and support. (Oh and right now they have 0% financing on tractors!!):thThumbsU Hmmm, I could use one........

Hello fellow tractor geeks,
I have a 3525 I paid $9500 for brand new a year and a half ago with no loader. I custom bush hogg and this tractor couldn't be better. Small enough for easy loading and unloading but still big enough to cut thick growth at about 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 acres an hour with a 5' Rotory cutter. This tractor has been problem free so far. On most jobs I can run in fourth gear and maintain 2000 rpms even on average inclines. And it has a comfortable, adjustable seat for my big butt. Our other tractor is a Mahindra 2816 with loader and it cuts side by side with the 3525. That tractor sold new with a FEL for about $14000 twelve months ago. I priced everything before I bought the 3525 and found nothing to compare in price for the quality. I would do it again in a heart beat.
