I dug this little tractor out of my grandpa's mower shed.* It's a Homelite 730 OLE Yard-Trac, SN 3227821.* Grandpa said he bought it new in the 1950's, but couldn't tell me much more than that.* It has a 7HP Tecumseh engine.* Anybody know anything about these?* Here are some pictures.

I've even got the original manual-

If anybody can help me ID this tractor better, or know where I can find parts, that woud be great.* I want to do a complete restoration, but I need some new parts.* Did this tractor ever have a wagon?* If so I'd be willing to buy one.* Thanks for listening to me ramble, and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to MTF!!

Dont know a lot about those, but I have ran acrass quite a few looking for a older style Homelite tractor. BTW, I think that one was made in the late 60's

This site may help you Most older homelite tractors were made by Simplicity http://www.simpletractors.com/ Before Jacobson made them.

I don't know if they had plastic gas tanks like that in the 50's. It has the look of a mid 60's.

Get the numbers off of the engine, it may be easier to pin point the age that way.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe it was the '60s. It's hard telling. I tried simpletractors.com, but they didn't have anything I saw that old. Anybody know of a good place to look for a parts tractor? I tried looking at ebay, but no luck.

I think at least one guy had one on this site, I cant remember who though. As I said, I am looking for a late 50's one, and I keep coming across these. There out there.

I haven't seen any, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Ebay doesn't seem to have anything Homelite except chainsaws. Where's the best place to find them?

Takes a little patience. May not be any on Ebay this week, but there might be 2 next week, so you have to keep checking all the time. Also check Craig's list, and you can Google "Homelite tractor for sale" and see what pops up.

Cool little tractor. I think you will find its a 1969 or 70.There was a brochure on ebay with your model number and it was 1969.You can still get most parts for that engine.Cant tell you much about the tractor, but if you have any engine questions just ask.Walter

I've been searching, but so far I haven't come up with anything. If anybody hears of one for sale in North Carolina, specifically around Camp Lejeune, give me a shout. Running would be preferred. I'm hoping to buy one for parts.
