I couldnt get the front wheel off.
OK, I got a big hammer. I can handle this.
After awhile I shelved the project and came back later.
That was a tough on. No rust showing, no other foreign stuff either.

Finally I did some home-made press's with some Taperd Blocks of wood from my big Chop saw.
That finally got the outside bearing to come loose, but left the indside bearing stuck in place.

Here's what happend and I hope you dont have to deal with this.

At the factory that front Left spindle was bent by a big stamping machine.
Mine was a leeeetle bit deformed right about the place where the inside bearing race went. The shaft wasn't straight, it was offset a bit.

A nice large wide spacer would have solved the problem.
But our unknown Hero used some little washers.
When he tightend up the wheel bearing with the collar and Allen screw, he forced the inside bearing, those washers and the seal inside the de-formed part of the spindle axle.

Additionally the A.C. Yellow paint was already on the spindle axle and the bearing jammed up over the paint.

I had to destroy it. I may be sorry about that later on. I put a nice large chunk of steel under the bearing and smacked the top hard with a BFH.
The Bearings shot all over the barn. Then I smacked the inner part of the race that was welded to the axle which caused it to loosen up.

So for years that thing ran with the two bearings cocked in opposite directions. Somebody got lucky with the Wheel bearing lube.
Finally the Tire rotted and that's why I had to get the wheel off.
I seem to get these 'end of the line' machines.:crybaby:

So now I need bearings and a new tire.

that ok atleast when that done you dont have to worry about parts going south

LOL, "...parts going south..."
Jake, we are in the south!

I haven't gone any farther yet, but I think there are some Boat Trailer bearing sets that will work.
If not, then I can measure them and find replacments at a Commercial Bearing supply house. They have it all.

That spacer problem bothers me a bit. It seems odd the Factory would let a thing like that out the door!
But heck, this thing was made in the 60's and we were not using Lazers to measure tolerances like they do now.

Well you guys are gonna laugh at this one.
I said the Front axle was de-formed a bit.
I also had to move that thing, it was in the way!

So....I went to my little wood shop, found some old hard Oak and made a nice round bung with a hole saw, then took the middle of the bung out with a Spade bit, and whaddaya know? I have a Wooden wheel bearing.
Just like an old Studebaker freight wagon.

So now I found the Rings, a new Magneto, and Gaskets for the engine. That's all ready to be re-assembled and put back into the little tractor.

Boy do I wish some guy would offer me the Power takeoff parts for this little AC or the Simplictiy 2110. Anybody???

If you want to get the proper bearings, here are the Timken part numbers. Any bearing house should be able to cross them for you.

Front wheel (outside, no seal) TIM LM11949
Inner bearings (with integral grease seal) TIM LM11900LA
bearing races (cones) TIM LM11910

Thanks Mike. That info is in the file now, for later when times are better and I have more money and time.
